BMW Group announce recycled fishing nets for the Neue Klasse

In a first for the automotive industry, the BMW Group is using recycled marine waste to produce visible trim parts in the injection moulding process. The equivalent of about 35 shipping containers of plastic waste ends up in the seas and oceans every hour. BMW Group plans to source steel produced with green power and hydrogen from northern Sweden

The BMW Group continues to push forward with climate protection and is systematically pursuing its goal of significantly reducing CO2 emissions at their source in the supply chain. The BMW Group made significant progress in shaping sustainable mobility in 2017. For the first time, the company sold more than 100,000 electrified vehicles in a single year.
