Compassion in World Farming welcomes first fish certification welfare standards but says “more must be done”

The introduction of basic welfare standards for farmed fish by two international certification schemes has been welcomed as “an important step forward” by Compassion in World Farming. Leading food companies call on the EU to phase out the use of cages in animal farming

Leading food companies across the EU sent a joint letter to the EU Commission and Members of the EU Parliament, calling for a phase out in the use of cages in animal farming, starting with enriched cages for laying hens.
