67 million clothes could be discarded by UK homes post lockdown

The latest public survey by WRAP suggests that two in five UK citizens (41%) have had a clear out of unwanted textiles and clothing during the Covid-19 lockdown, with the majority storing their items at home until lockdown lifts. Kent Community Foundation Receives Additional Support for Good Causes Affected by the Pandemic

Kent Community Foundation has received £470,000 from the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport to support organisations across Kent and Medway. This new funding will be used to award grants to those who had previously applied to Kent Community Foundation’s COVID-19 Fund and were initially unsuccessful as the Fund was oversubscribed. Saving animals is difficult work during the best of times, but COVID-19 presented a host of new challenges to animal care organizations nationwide. Singer-songwriter and musician Passenger is supporting the Trussell Trust, a charity that works with a network of more than 1,200 food bank centres across the UK, by donating proceeds from his new album Patchwork to help people struggling due to the coronavirus outbreak.
