Global environmental action NGO WRAP has been chosen to be part of the 2025 cohort of Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Commitment to Action Makers. Climate Fellows initiative launched to support state climate action in India

Climate Group India joins hands with Swaniti Initiative, a nonpartisan social enterprise, to launch the State Climate Fellows initiative to support subnational climate action in India. BBC launches Disinformation Unit in India

BBC News has launched a new ‘Disinformation Unit’ in India to uncover, analyse and report on the spread of fake news. A team of dedicated journalists will focus on highlighting false information, debunking viral social media content and investigate how and why it spreads. The team will provide audiences with useful tips and information on how to spot ‘fake news’ and prevent it from spreading further. £1.7 million grant to cut plastic pollution in India, Chile, Kenya and South Africa

Last month sustainability charity WRAP and UKRI launch a major new UK fund to support projects to reduce the impact of plastics on the environment in India, Chile, Kenya and South Africa. The International Circular Plastics Flagship Projects Competition is a £1.7 million fund designed to address the problem of plastics pollution in these key nations. India has become the first Asian country to develop a plastics pact, launching a ground-breaking new initiative to bring together leading businesses at a national level to make commitments for building a circular system for plastics.
