First KitKat using cocoa from the Nestlé Income Accelerator launches in Europe

Nestlé has introduced the first KitKat made with cocoa mass from beans grown by farmer families engaged in the company’s income accelerator. Nestlé Confectionery announces major packaging innovations for Quality Street and KitKat

Nestlé Confectionery has announced industry-leading packaging innovations for two of its best-loved brands – Quality Street and KitKat. In a category first, Quality Street will move to recyclable paper packaging for its twist-wrapped sweets. By replacing the double layer of foil and cellulose with a paper wrap, Quality Street will remove more than two billion pieces of packaging material from the brand’s supply chain. KitKat to be carbon neutral by 2025, boosting sustainability efforts

KitKat, has pledged to become carbon neutral by 2025. KitKat aims to reduce the emissions generated through the sourcing of its ingredients, the manufacturing of the product and its distribution by more than 50% as part of the plan.   Most emissions occur when producing KitKat’s ingredients like cocoa and milk.
