On the 21st of January, thanks to Help for Heroes, iconic buildings in London and Cardiff lit up in support of wounded Veterans. New public artworks celebrate contribution of London’s women

Bold new works of art have been unveiled on walls and in public spaces across the capital today, bringing the inspirational stories of women from London’s history to light. The 20 artworks, which pay tribute to unknown women who have played a crucial role in the capital’s history, have been curated by The Tate Collective. Pledge to improve women’s safety at night in London

Organisations across London are being urged to pledge their support and help ensure women stay safe at night by signing up to the Mayor’s Women’s Night Safety Charter. Ethics Panel delivers recommendations for use of facial recognition

An independent panel that advises London’s City Hall on the ethics of policing has issued a series of recommendations in a report examining the Metropolitan Police’s use of facial recognition technology. The Met has been trialling live facial recognition technology to understand how effective it will be in supporting police operations. The technology automatically checks people passing a camera in a public place that are checked against images on a ‘watch-list’ specially selected on police databases.
