Tesco launches innovative feed trial to cut dairy emissions

Tesco has announced it’s partnering with Grosvenor Farms, one of its key UK dairy farms, to trial a methane-reducing feed supplement for dairy cows. Identified as having one of the lowest carbon footprints of any UK milk producer, Grosvenor Farms, one of the original members of the Tesco Sustainable Dairy Group (TSDG), has added the methane-reducing feed supplement to the diet of 400 cows as part of the trial. Arrival of the laser-etched avocado as Tesco makes plastic-saving move

Avocado fans will notice some dramatic changes when they pick up one of Britain’s most popular salad items at Tesco. In a move to help the environment, the supermarket will trial the scrapping of barcode stickers currently on extra large avocados and replace them with a bold laser etching. Tesco has wind in its sails as it announces programme of new green electricity projects

Tesco has continued with its ambitious, industry-leading renewable electricity programme with the announcement it has signed a new deal to take 150GWh of power from Stranoch windfarm every year.  The windfarm, being built by EDF Renewables UK, has started construction this week and is due to become operational in 2026 generating 102MW, with 20 turbines located on the site in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.  The deal will see Tesco taking enough clean energy to power the equivalent of more than 80 average sized supermarkets for a year.  The site is…

NHS neonatal units across country set to receive premature baby clothing donation from Tesco

Half of babies born prematurely in England will receive F&F essentials Every NHS neonatal unit across England is set to receive packs of premature baby clothes to help parents in need at what can be a difficult and worrying time. Tesco is donating 23,000 packs of F&F Premature Baby Essentials to the 157 units. Each pack contains sleepsuits, bodysuits, hats & scratch mitts.
