Tesco is first UK supermarket to give kinship carers same support as adoptive parents

Tesco, the UK’s largest private-sector employer, has granted colleagues who have a Special Guardianship Order to care for relatives’ children equal rights with colleagues who adopt – giving them both 26 weeks’ leave on full pay. UK’s biggest food collection calls for volunteers to support charities

With food banks and charities facing increasing levels of need this winter, people are being urged to give the gift of their time to take part in the UK’s biggest food donation drive. Fruitful pickings – Tesco works with Veolia to recycle soft plastic and support schools across the UK

Tesco is joining forces with leading sustainable resource management company Veolia, Groundwork and local councils to introduce greener areas in schools, and give children a stronger start by learning more about the environment. The Veolia Orchard campaign will be donating almost 600 fruit trees and 800 strawberry plants to schools limited by space or without green areas. Tesco join forces with Hasbro and Wastebuster to trial in store toy recycling that also gets books into schools

Tesco and Hasbro have joined forces with leading not-for-profit environmental education company, Wastebuster, to trial a new in-store campaign – turning broken plastic toys into books and reading resources for UK schools.
