The UK Government has published guidance on its framework to create UK Sustainability Disclosure Standards (UK SDS) confirming that the Secretary of State for Business and Trade will consider the endorsement of the IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards to create UK SDS by July 2024. UK government announces £4m AI funding to cut carbon emissions

The UK government has announced a new multimillion pound investment in Artificial intelligence (AI) to transform the way industries cut their carbon emissions. Twelve green AI initiatives will receive a share of £1 million to decarbonise and boost generation of renewable energy, contributing to reaching the country’s ambitious net zero goal by 2050. £29 million for UK Know Your Neighbourhood Fund confirmed

The UK government has confirmed the launch of the Know Your Neighbourhood (KYN) Fund, a £29 million package of funding designed to widen participation in volunteering and tackle loneliness in 27 disadvantaged areas across England. 10p bag charge in the UK turns the tide on plastic waste

Billions of harmful plastic bags have been stopped thanks to the single-use carrier bag charge, new figures reveal today. The 5p charge was introduced in supermarkets in 2015 and since then usage at the main retailers has dropped by a staggering 97%. Meanwhile, over £200 million has been voluntarily donated by retailers to good causes in that time.
