Chivas Brothers, one of Scotland’s leading Scotch whisky producers and makers of Chivas Regal and The Glenlivet, has  announced the delivery into service of Scotland’s first on-road all-electric tractor unit in partnership with electromobility market leader Volvo Trucks. The truck is a Volvo FM Electric 6×2 tractor unit pulling a tri-axle box van trailer and operating at up to 44 tonnes gross vehicle weight. IKEA Industry, Volvo Trucks, and Raben Group have signed a collaboration agreement on zero-emission heavy transport in Poland. IKEA will introduce heavy electric Volvo trucks for internal transport flows at two IKEA Industry factories in Poland, which will be operated by Raben Group. Volvo Trucks are first in the world to use fossil-free steel in its trucks

As the world’s first truck manufacturer to do so, Volvo is now introducing fossil-free steel in its trucks. The steel is produced by the Swedish steel company SSAB and the heavy-duty electric Volvo trucks will be the first to include it. The steel from SSAB is produced using a completely new technology, based on hydrogen. The result is a much lower climate impact than conventionally produced steel. Volvo Trucks launches a complete range of electric trucks starting in Europe in 2021

Volvo Trucks is now running tests of the electric heavy-duty Volvo FH, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX trucks, which will be used for regional transport and urban construction operations in Europe.
