British consumers feel ‘disgusted’ and ‘guilty’ about fashion industry abuses but lack money and resources to shop ethically

New polling shows that British consumers feel strong negative emotions about fashion industry exploitation, and that they want the industry cleaned up so they can enjoy shopping without guilt. More than two-thirds (68% percent) felt either ‘disgusted’ ‘sad’ or ‘angry’ about the fact that many garment suppliers in countries like Bangladesh were not paid during the first year of the pandemic, and more than a third felt guilt about the fact that their clothes are not made ethically. Tackling on-farm food waste key to increasing profits by a fifth

A new report from leading sustainability charity, WRAP, reveals farmers could achieve a potential 20% increase in profits by reducing surplus and wasted food. Field studies conducted by WRAP across a range of products demonstrated that improvements in data and measurement are key to waste reduction. Levels of food surplus and waste on-farm were often higher than expected, with significant variability observed between farms, which suggests potential to improve performance within existing practices. Charity urges British animal lovers heading abroad to be rabies aware

After a spike in demand for foreign trips as travel restrictions ease, and the scrapping of the amber list from October 4 in England that will see 71 of the world’s canine rabies endemic countries added to the green list, UK-based charity Mission Rabies is urging animal lovers travelling overseas to know how to protect themselves against rabies.
