The Julia Rausing Trust has announced its second wave of grants, £30 million to causes supporting Health, Welfare and Education in the UK. This second wave of grants follows the £20 million announced as part of the launch of the Trust earlier in the month.
The new Trust will see £100 million donated to UK charities and organisations in its first year.
Commenting on this second wave of grants, Hans Rausing said,
“This next £30 million wave of grants has been made in Julia’s name to reflect her passion for supporting young people and those in need. The Prince’s Trust and MediCinema, in particular, were amongst several charitable projects that Julia worked on closely last year to help support their worthy programmes.
In total 31 charities are receiving grants in this new wave focused on Health, Welfare and Education. Julia recognised how these charities could reach so many and how they help improve the daily lives of not just those in need but also those providing support.”
Previously, the Julia Rausing Trust announced £20 million of donations to charities and organisation in the Arts and Heritage, including £10 million to the Royal Opera House, £5 million to the National Gallery and £1 million to Gloucester Cathedral.
