The Digital Poverty Alliance (DPA) has partnered with the Atos to launch an Employee Device Donation Programme, aimed at collecting used devices that can be redistributed to help combat digital exclusion across the UK.
The initiative invites Atos colleagues in the Glasglow, Brimingham and London offices to donate unused devices, which will be securely refurbished and redistributed to individuals without access to essential technology.
Working closely with a trusted ITAD partner certified under the ADISA standard, each donated device will be assessed, repaired where needed, cleaned and fitted with a new operating system.
Elizabeth Anderson, CEO of the Digital Poverty Alliance, commented: “We are thrilled to be working with Atos on this programme to refurbish and redistribute used devices to people who are digitally excluded. We have designed this programme to make participation straightforward and secure, so that we can encourage colleagues to donate their devices and support our mission to make digital accessible for all.
With millions of people in the UK still excluded from digital access, every device donated has the potential to transform a life. By supporting redistribution schemes like this, we’re not only promoting digital inclusion, but we’re also advancing a circular economy that depends on collective action to succeed. Together we are demonstrating that access to technology should never be determined by circumstance but made available to all.”
This initiative not only reduces waste but actively creates pathways to opportunity, education, employment, healthcare and connection.
Vicki Evans, Head of CSR UK&I at Atos, commented: “For the millions still excluded from digital access, this programme is a step toward closing the gap and a vital opportunity to raise awareness of the persistent inequalities that prevent full participation in our digital society.”
