The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has announced a series of activities in support of February’s global #EthicsMatter campaign, launched today.
Organised by the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management, the second annual Global Ethics Month aims to raise awareness of the importance of ethics in communication across all disciplines and sectors. It follows its successful launch in 2020 which saw participation from thousands of public relations professionals in over 60 countries.
Over the course of the month, the CIPR will be sharing new content – including blogs, webinars, and its own social media campaign – on the importance of ethics in public relations.
Now more than ever, ethical practice is key for the profession to build on the recognised value it delivers to our organisations and to society. The CIPR – as the world’s only chartered body for public relations professionals – has and will continue to highlight the importance of adopting the highest ethical standards at the heart of PR practice. We are proud to add our voice to this global campaign and to demonstrate through our planned activity across the month, just why #EthicsMatter.Eva Maclaine FCIPR, CIPR lead for #EthicsMatter
Now more than ever, professional ethics are being thrust into the global spotlight and are quickly becoming a requirement for every industry, profession and individual. Public relations and communications have been leading the way in this respect for decades, and the Global Alliance for Public Relations and Communications Management will continue that leadership in 2021 with the second annual Global Ethics Month.
