CIPR opens #StateofPR 2026 survey as industry navigates AI and workforce change

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has launched its State of the Profession 2026 survey, aimed at capturing insights on how PR professionals work, what challenges they’re facing, and the latest trends in the industry.

The survey captures practitioner perspectives on the health of the profession including skills and training needs, salaries, the reputation of PR, and how practitioners are responding to developments in artificial intelligence and the global news agenda.

Now in its fourteenth year, the State of the Profession survey is the largest and longest-running survey of its kind. The insight gathered supports the Institute to benchmark standards, guide its policy agenda, and make effective representations on behalf of the profession to business, partners, and legislators.

The survey is open to all, takes approximately 10 minutes to complete, and all participants can enter a prize draw for a £100 gift card on completion.

The State of the Profession survey is how we take the pulse of our industry. The data we gather shapes our policy work, our member services, and our ability to speak with authority on behalf of practitioners. At a time when the profession is navigating significant change – from the integration of AI tools to a turbulent geopolitical environment – that knowledge base matters more than ever. Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share it with your contacts, whether they’re a CIPR member or not.
