The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has published updated versions of its E,S, and G guides, reflecting the significant changes in environmental, social, and governance practices since the original guides’ publication last year.
The three-part series, developed by the CIPR’s ESG Panel, has been extensively revised to incorporate the latest understanding of new regulatory frameworks, emerging trends, and evolving best practice in the field. The new versions examine AI’s role in ESG reporting, the concept of a ‘just transition’, and more recent developments such as the UK’s new Procurement Act and its implications on the importance of social value in government contracts.
The guides remain freely available to download for both CIPR members and non-members and continue to serve as an essential resource for PR practitioners and organisations looking to build, update, or evaluate their ESG communications strategies.
The pace of change in ESG has been remarkable. As sustainability, good governance, and social commitments move from the periphery to the core of business strategy, organisations are facing mounting pressure to demonstrate meaningful action on environmental and social issues. These updated guides reflect our commitment to support PR practitioners in navigating this complex landscape and communicating their sustainability journey with authenticity and impact.
