International Women’s Day 2018

It’s been another great year for International Women’s Day, with some great iniatives from all over this year.

This seems to be becoming a bigger deal every year and it’s great to see so many interesting campaigns coming from all sorts of industries but with some great ones coming from within the marketing industry itself.

This year there has been so many great campaigns that I want to cover that I have decided I will be showcasing International Women’s Day Campaigns for the rest of the month as I don’t want to overwhelm everyone and would like everyone to see so many of the great campaigns.

This year has been a great year for the awareness of women’s equality campaigns, in many cases coming off of the backs of some very distasteful people and moments.

This year’s theme for International Women’s Day, “Time is Now: Rural and Urban Activists Transforming Women’s Lives”.

We have some great pieces coming up about some great iniatives and at the end of the month we will highlight our favourites, but this year it seems to be a bigger deal than ever.

As always though there are some who seem threatened by International Women’s Day, and one of my personal highlights, as always, is watching comedian Richard Herring point out to all of those people who complain there’s no international Men’s Day that there, of course is and that the date of it is 19th November.

I hope you will enjoy the stuff we’ve got coming up, but there are some really great iniatives, from the ringing of the bell at Nasdaq to the new UN Champions of Innovation.
