PRCA launches new Virtual PR Agencies Group

The PRCA is pleased to announce that it is launching a new Sectoral Group which will focus on virtual agencies. The PRCA Virtual PR Agencies Group is to be Co-Chaired by Nicola Regazzoni CMPRCA and George Blizzard CMPRCA, co-founders of The PR Network (PRN). Nicky and George will be supported by the rest of the PRN management team and are actively recruiting founding members from fellow virtual agencies, with details TBC shortly.

The aim of the group will be to discuss the opportunities and challenges offered to companies who categorise themselves as ‘virtual’, and to develop initiatives that drive the sector forward.

As identified by PR Week, this is a growing sub-sector of the industry. The PR Network defines the virtual agency as “based on a flexible PR model which uses robust technology to bring together the best senior PR professionals from across the globe, without the need to work out of the same physical location”. Big brands are now considering virtual agencies alongside traditional agencies for a wide range of briefs, in contrast to previous years when a virtual agency might have been considered a ‘wild card’ choice.

Nicola Regazzoni CMPRCA, Co-Founder, The PR Network, said: “The PRCA is a strong advocate for change and innovation. We approached Francis to discuss the momentum we are seeing which is driving growth in our own business and in the virtual agency category as a whole. The new group will help further establish virtual agencies as a valid career choice for senior PR practitioners, and a credible option for clients.”

George Blizzard CMPRCA, Co-Founder, The PR Network, said: “The virtual agency offers a future-proof approach to delivery of PR services. We’ve won five major accounts since the start of 2018 which shows us the barriers to adoption of virtual agency models are finally coming down.”

Francis Ingham MPRCA, Director General, PRCA, said: “Virtual networks are becoming increasingly popular across the PR and communications industry, so I’m thrilled to be working with Nicola and George to launch this new PRCA Sectoral Group and help better meet the growing needs our members working in virtual businesses.”

Several founding group members have already been confirmed, and the Virtual PR Agencies Group will launch officially in Q4 2018. Please contact nicky@thepr.network if you are a board director or owner of a virtual agency and would like to be involved as a founding group member.
