How Tackling UK’s Shocking Food Waste Saves Country Millions

New research has shown that the Government saves nearly £118 million a year by getting nutritious, edible food to people rather than letting it go to waste. Food redistribution through FareShare was found to make savings to the NHS, childcare costs, and the cost of destroying food waste.   The Hertfordshire Business School at the University of Hertfordshire conducted the research in partnership with FareShare, the UK’s largest food redistribution charity, which rescues 50,000 tonnes of surplus food to over a million people across the UK every year.    The…

Unilever partners with Superdrug and Beauty Banks to tackle hygiene poverty

United in their purpose to end hygiene poverty in the UK, Unilever has joined forces with Superdrug and charity Beauty Banks, to tackle the growing issue which affects millions of adults and children every day. Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL)’s green office retrofit, the Entopia Building, has been shortlisted for the Architects’ Journal (AJ) 100 Awards 2023.  The AJ100 Awards celebrate the achievements of the UK’s largest architecture practices, including those leading the way on sustainability.
