Waitrose & Partners is launching the world’s first home compostable ready meal packaging as it moves nearly nine million products out of black plastic. More than 1,000 Co-op food stores are at the forefront of the retailer’s moves to ditch single-use plastics, with the roll-out of new compostable carriers from last week. Co-op bans single-use plastics and unveils compostable carrier bags

The Co-op announced an end to single-use plastic. It will see around 60 million plastic carrier bags removed in a phased rollout and replaced with an environmentally-friendly alternative. Greene King Launches Industry First Compostable Straw Solution

Greene King has announced it will introduce compostable PLA straws across its entire UK estate of 1,750 pubs, as part of its pledge to send zero waste to landfill by 2020. This will remove over 30 million plastic straws from use every year.
