The 200th member of environmental charity Hubbub’s Community Fridge Network opened recently, marking a significant milestone for the initiative. The latest community fridge has been installed in Lancaster West Estate in North Kensington, London. It is the 50th fridge funded by Co-op, whose support for 100 new community fridges across the country by the end of this year has helped fast-track the expansion of the food-saving initiative. #LoveYourForest joins forces with mountain biking community to clear litter from popular bike trails

Environmental charity Hubbub is calling on mountain bikers to significantly reduce litter along popular bike trails this summer as part of its ongoing #LoveYourForest campaign. The Forest of Dean’s bike trails are hugely popular with around 350,000 visits to Forestry England’s Cannop Cycle Centre every year – but mountain bikers are trailing trash in their wake including single use plastic packaging from energy bars and drinks. Bristol catches a beauty – ‘Seacycler’ hits the water in Bristol Harbour to tackle pollution with plastic fishing trips

On Tuesday 13 July a new vessel in the battle to clean up plastic pollution in Britain’s waterways – ‘Seacycler’ – was unveiled in Bristol. Launched by environmental charity Hubbub, the 12-seater punt is made from 99% recycled plastic and will be permanently based in Bristol Harbour, a beautiful area spanning 83 acres that attracts many visitors each year but also considerable amounts of litter. Hubbub Enterprise gets the royal vote

Hubbub Enterprise has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the Sustainable Development category.  The social enterprise arm of the environmental charity Hubbub, which in 2020 became a certified B Corp, is behind the world’s first voting ashtray, the “Ballot Bin”, designed to tackle the most common form of plastic litter: cigarettes.   More than 3,300 Ballot Bins have now been sold in 38 countries around the world, from South Korea to Macedonia. Over 500 of these have been bought by local authorities in the UK and are proving an effective tool in the battle against…
