A food waste saving initiative, launched by Tesco five years ago, has saved 50 million packs of fruit and vegetables. The scheme, called Perfectly Imperfect, was launched by the supermarket as a way of offering customers wonky food at risk of becoming waste. Tesco strengthens environmental standards for its growers with adoption of global LEAF Marque Standard

Tesco has announced a strengthening in the environmental standards required by its 14,000 fresh produce growers, by implementing the LEAF Marque environmental assurance scheme across its entire global produce supply chain. OLIO Food Waste Heroes have saved five million meals by working with Tesco
