Tesco suppliers join forces to tackle global food waste

Tesco announces ground-breaking partnerships with suppliers to tackle UN Sustainable Development Goal on food waste. Speaking at a meeting of Champions 12.3 in New York, Dave Lewis,  Tesco’s CEO, announced partnership agreements with 24 of its largest food suppliers who will adopt the Sustainable Development Goal to halve food waste by 2030.  The suppliers, who represent over £17bn worth of Tesco sales, will publish food waste data for their own operations within 12 months, and have committed to take the steps needed to reduce food waste in their supply chain…

Tesco becomes first UK retailer to cover the cost of VAT on tampons

Tesco has today announced it will reduce the price of women’s sanitary products in a bid to make them more affordable for customers. The initiative, spearheaded by BBH London, will see a five per cent reduction in price to cover the cost of the so-called ‘Tampon Tax’ or VAT on the items ahead of Government proposals to remove the VAT. Tesco supports London Pride

Tesco will be ‘Bursting with Pride’ this weekend as it supports London Pride with stores across London joining in the annual LGBT festival. Tesco’s Regent Street Metro kicked off celebrations this week with exclusive pre-Pride events, including performances from the London Gay Men’s Chorus, pop-up bar serving rainbow inspired cocktails and a “Ride for Pride” bicycle-powered smoothie maker.
