‘World’s Biggest Idiot?’ Campaign launched by FCB Cape Town
The #ItCanWait Don’t Text & Drive message launched earlier this year using a fail video for The Western Cape Government in South Africa was a huge success. The Campaign went viral reaching 83 million views and 780 000 shares from a worldwide audience. FCB Cape Town have worked with The Western Cape Government in South Africa on a follow up ad for it’s Safely Home Campaign, utilising a similar theme and designed to remind us of the distractions that could be forthcoming over the holiday period. Retailer H&M have come under fire for using an image of black child in a hoodie reading ‘coolest monkey in the jungle’. This has been described as ‘deeply offensive’ and ‘disturbing’ by musicians such as The Weeknd and G-Eazy who had collaborated with the clothing company.
