Vodafone and Barnardo’s ‘Great British Tech Appeal’ now open to businesses

‘The Great British Tech Appeal’, launched by Vodafone and Barnardo’s in May, is now open to businesses. From today, any business can donate five or more unwanted smartphones and tablets for redistribution to disadvantaged children, families and the charity workers who support them. Vodafone will cover the cost of collections, repackaging and redistribution and will provide six months free connectivity for every device. Amazon Funds Urban Greening Program to Increase Climate-Resilience of German Cities

Amazon has announced a €3.75 million commitment to The Nature Conservancy in an effort to reduce climate change risks and increase species biodiversity in three German cities. The initial project is in Berlin’s Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district. Learnings will be applied in two other German locations, and then shared across other European cities. With this, Amazon is recognizing the urgency of the climate crisis and its impacts on urban communities. The Big Issue Group and Big Issue Foundation report over £400,000 dispersed to over 1,600 vendors as result of urgent appeal to support vendors in wake of Covid crisis

The Big Issue Group and The Big Issue Foundation have issued an update on their appeal launched in response to the Covid-19 crisis whilst Big Issue vendors have been unable to sell on the streets. Tesco to fund allergy research through sales of Free From products

As part of a new partnership, Tesco donated 10p from the sale of every Tesco Free From product to the Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, during World Allergy Week (28 June – 4 July).  The proceeds of the campaign will help fund research into allergies. The Foundation was set up by the parents of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse who died in 2016 after an allergic reaction to sesame in a baguette.
