Major Global Utilities Announce Joint Intent to Scale Renewable Capacity by 2.5 times to 2030

The Utilities for Net Zero Alliance (UNEZA) adopted the UNEZA Roadmap to 2030, which targets a total increase of renewable energy capacity within their portfolios to 749GW by 2030*, an increase of 2.5 times relative to 2023. Homes and businesses in south west London powered using poo power

The UK‘s largest water company has converted two more of its sewage treatment works (STWs) into poo power plants by converting its sewage sludge into biomethane, which can then be used as a source of electricity. The Hogsmill STW in Surrey is exporting enough electricity to power 900 properties, while the Beddington STW in Sutton, is exporting the equivalent of 1200 homes.
