Social justice focus as funder launches ​‘ambitious’ 10-year vision

London’s biggest independent charity funder has launched a new 10-year funding policy focused on tackling the inequality and injustice that blights the capital. City Bridge Foundation says the new policy, Standing With Londoners, will position it as a social justice funder, with a sharper focus on tackling the root causes of inequality. Recycle Week 2024 drives down missed capture as campaign gears up to change recycling behaviours even further in 2025

Recycle Week, the flagship annual event delivered by Recycle Now for 22 years, returns 22-28 September to collaborate with even more NGO’s, businesses, schools, local authorities and community groups and to inspire even more people to recycle.  Aiming to go beyond awareness-raising and drive citizen behaviour change, the evaluation of last year’s Recycle Week shows that the campaign reached an estimated 7.3 million people. UK Research and Innovation publishes gender pay gap report

The sixth annual gender pay gap report highlights the percentage difference between the average hourly earnings for males and females across the organisation. The gender pay gap is a measure across all jobs in UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), not of the difference in pay between males and females for doing the same job. CISL’s Entopia Building shortlisted for RIBA award

The Cambridge headquarters of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, the Entopia Building, is among 23 projects nominated for the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) East Awards 2025. Constructed in 1939 to house a telephone exchange, the Entopia Building, formerly 1 Regent Street, was sustainably refitted at a cost of £12.6 million and CISL moved in in 2022. The building also houses the Canopy, a Cambridge community for entrepreneurs, startups, innovators and small businesses pioneering sustainability innovation.  Entopia’s retrofit was a collaborative project.
