85% of People Want Global Ban on Single-Use Plastics

An average of 85% of people polled worldwide believe a soon-to-be concluded global plastic pollution treaty should ban single-use plastics that now account for more than 70% of ocean plastic pollution, according to an Ipsos survey of more than 24,000 people in 32 countries commissioned by WWF and the Plastic Free Foundation. A Greenpeace International study, also recently released, shows similarly overwhelming support for ending single-use plastics. Nonprofits lead the way for female leadership in Spain

More than half of Spanish nonprofits (54%) are led by a woman, with female leadership particularly common in smaller organisations. This is according to Fundación Lealtad, a nonprofit organisation which evaluates NGOs. Published ahead of International Women’s Day (8 March), its data covers the boards and leaders of the 277 nonprofits holding its ‘Dona con Confianza’ (Donate with Confidence) accreditation.
