George at Asda announces 100% of ladies’ bags are now vegan

As of 4th July, all of George at Asda’s ladies’ bags are now 100% vegan, meaning no animal-derived products are used in the making of the range.

There is a selection of bags available in a variety of styles and colours, including a pale pink ring detail bag, a burgundy mini mock croc cross body bag and a mock croc black bag, making them a must have for this summer’s wardrobe. The collection will also continue to offer the same great value with prices starting from just £10.

The full range has been registered with The Vegan Society, including tracing all products back through the supply chain, not just to the factory they were made in, but also to all of the suppliers who make the dyes and the glues used on the bags. The Vegan trademark will be included on all George swing tickets for applicable Vegan products in the collection, so customers can be confident that the particular product has no animal derived ingredient within it.

Helena Boal, Buying Manager for Accessories at George, says: “As a team we’re delighted to be in a position to offer our customers a range of stylish Vegan bags, whilst still being able to offer the same great value as the rest of our products. We understand there is an increased demand for Vegan options in the fashion marketplace and it’s great we can provide such a stylish selection for our shopper to choose from.”

Chantelle Adkins, Director of Business Development at The Vegan Society, says: “These fantastic bags have been registered with The Vegan Society’s Vegan Trademark. It’s great to see George investing in this area which will appeal to a lot of consumers. We’re proud to have teamed up with George on this range and can assure customers that all these products are free from animal ingredients and have not been tested on animals.”

George currently offer a wide range of ladies’ bags that are now available at selected George at Asda stores across the UK as well as online at www.george.com.
