Jessica Ozdemir wins election for 2019 PR and Communications Council Vice-Chairman

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) can reveal that Jessica Ozdemir CMPRCA, Senior Marketing Manager, International, WE Communications, has been elected as the Vice-chairman of the PR and Communications Council 2019. The appointment follows an election process among the 2019 PR and Communications Council members.

The PR and Communications Council provides a formal mechanism to consult with the industry’s most senior practitioners on the issues PR and communications faces; to act as a think-tank for the industry; to inform the PRCA’s strategic priorities; and to produce helpful commentary, advice, and best-practice guidance for professionals.

Ozdemir is responsible for leading a cross-functional team of marketing specialists across the entire marketing mix: increasing brand awareness, driving demand for WE services and converting demand into business opportunities. Ozdemir implements the agency’s marketing strategy across the EMEA and APAC markets.

Ozdemir will take on the role in January 2019, at the same time as Amanda Coleman FPRCA, Head of Corporate Communication, Greater Manchester Police, is promoted to PR and Communications Council Chairman. Ozdemir will replace Coleman as Chairman of the Council in January 2020.

Ozdemir said: “I am thrilled to be elected as Vice-Chairman at such a pivotal time for the PR industry. There is much to do to help solidify our industry’s stance, particularly around diversity and inclusion, and I’m really looking forward to working with Amanda and the terrific team at PRCA to help make a difference.”

The PRCA would like to thank Jonathan Chandler CMPRCA for his work leading the Council this year.
