O2 announce campaign to tackle data poverty this Black Friday

O2 has announced the launch of its Black Friday deals. For every plan purchased with us between 1 November and 31 Jan, O2 will be donating 10GB data to the National Databank to help tackle data poverty.

The deals will also include a range of exclusive online offers on refurbished ‘Like New’ handsets from leading manufacturers, perfect for consumers looking to make a choice that is not only good for their pocket but for the planet too.

“This year we’re not only offering customers great value deals, we’re also helping connect those in need,” said Gareth Turpin, Chief Commercial Officer, Virgin Media O2. “We know how important connectivity is, so for every plan purchased with us, we’ll donate free data to someone who needs it, helping people stay connected to the people and things they love during the festive season.”

What’s more, by recycling an old device through O2 Recycle, customers can receive a cash payment which can be used towards an early upgrade. Customers can recycle online at www.o2recycle.co.uk.
