Amazon and Iberdrola, one of the world’s largest clean energy companies, have added an additional 476 megawatts (MW) of renewable energy PPAs (power purchase agreements) to their global renewable energy partnership, expanding its presence into five countries.  The new power purchase agreements include Amazon’s first PPA in Portugal for 219 MW from the Tâmega Wind Complex, the largest wind farm in Portugal, scheduled to begin construction in early 2025. Amazon recently announced the expansion of zero-exhaust emission deliveries in the UK, with its largest-ever order of electric heavy-goods vehicles (eHGVs). For the first time, Amazon packages are now also being transported at scale on the UK’s electric rail network. New recyclable Amazon packaging is landing on doorsteps in the UK

Amazon have invented a shock-proof, lightweight paper envelope in the UK that’s designed to be recycled at home. As part of our commitment to avoiding unnecessary packaging wherever possible, Amazon scientists and engineers worked with packaging industry expert Mondi to develop a new paper-padded envelope with shock-absorbent, paper-based lining.
