Asda and Pura create UK’s first in-store signage from recycled nappies

Asda has joined forces with eco-friendly baby brand Pura to help to tackle the issue of plastic waste, by producing the UK’s first in-store signage using recycled nappies. The signs which will be used on shelving selling Pura products in 320 stores, replaces plastic shelving. It’s estimated that the equivalent of 7,220 used nappies were recycled to make the signage, approximately seven nappies per sign. Spending power falls in every UK region

The latest figures from Asda’s Income Tracker reveal that household disposable incomes fell in every UK region during Q4 2022, compared with the same period a year earlier, showing that no areas of the country are immune from the cost of living crisis. Asda changes its yoghurts range to reduce food waste

Asda has announced a major change to over half of its own-brand yoghurts by removing Use By dates and replacing them with Best Before dates to help customers combat food waste in the home. *The change follows data from climate action NGO WRAP which says that half of all yoghurt wasted in UK households is in unopened packs. Asda has recently published its gender pay figures for 2022 which show a year-on-year reduction in both its mean and median pay gaps.
