Asda has begun to roll out LEAF Marque certification across its UK fresh produce fruit and vegetable supply base to strengthen its environmental standards. The LEAF Marque environmental assurance system provides independent, third-party verification around core areas of sustainable farming practice including soil and water management, energy efficiency, waste management, carbon sequestration, energy use and enrichment of biodiversity. More than 11m households don’t earn enough to cover essential costs

Low income households continue to be disproportionately affected by the cost of living crisis, as the latest Asda Income Tracker shows that 40% of the UK’s 28m households* had negative discretionary income last month – meaning their take home pay doesn’t cover the cost of their bills. Asda and Pura create UK’s first in-store signage from recycled nappies

Asda has joined forces with eco-friendly baby brand Pura to help to tackle the issue of plastic waste, by producing the UK’s first in-store signage using recycled nappies. The signs which will be used on shelving selling Pura products in 320 stores, replaces plastic shelving. It’s estimated that the equivalent of 7,220 used nappies were recycled to make the signage, approximately seven nappies per sign.
