CIPR’s Public Affairs Group have published a Horizon Scan document, exploring trends and topics likely to impact the future of working in public affairs. This begins a crowd-sourcing exercise which sees the group host a #CIPRPAchat on Twitter on the topic on Tuesday September 3, from 12-1pm.
The Horizon Scan (PDF) was produced following a meeting with top public affairs professionals – including both members and non-members of CIPR – who formed groups to consider the political, economic, social and technological (PEST) developments that would impact the profession over the coming decade.
Horizon scanning is a way of gathering ideas and intelligence about the future and looking for early warning signs of change that will impact our working environment and practices. This is the first step of a bigger exploration for the Public Affairs Group as part of our commitment to support practitioners in thinking on how public affairs should evolve and be well-positioned for the future. I want to thank all those that took part in the initial exercise and look forward to discussing these findings, and other topics, in our #CIPRPAchat.
