Twitter campaign launched to promote good news in Scotland

The media and social media is dominated by negative virus news but a new campaign backed by Campaign Collective will help to change that.

As social enterprises and charities get vital support to those who are suffering due to the current situation – there is also time to be inspired by the creative responses and innovation being seen across Scotland.

Each weekday at 11am to 12pm for the next few weeks the social media of leading bodies in Scotland will be dedicated to #GoodNewsScot – an hour of only solutions-based news stories from the enterprising third sector, on any topic.

Stories can be global as well as local but our focus will be on as many Scottish stories as possible. For example, a charity fundraising story, how a social enterprise has changed services to adapt – and even how new opportunities and new ways of working are paying dividends.

It’s an opportunity for everyone to promote their organisations – join in and share your news from 11am to 12pm weekdays using the #GoodNewsScot hashtag!

Simon Francis, Founder Member of Campaign Collective, commented:

Our home of positive news, The Rooftop, has been shouting about good news stories from across the world for over 18 months. It now has a following of over 40,000 on Facebook alone.

We’re delighted to be able to support this great campaign idea led by Social Enterprise Scotland.

A social media campaign from Social Enterprise Scotland, Social Enterprise Academy, Social Investment Scotland, The Rooftop / Campaign Collective and media co-op.
