Fairtrade’s Child Labour and Forced Labour Prevention and Remediation Programme launched in 2023 is beginning to make a meaningful impact on the lives of cocoa farmers and their families. According to the latest report, four small-scale producer organisations – CANN Cooperative, DAVO Cooperative, SOCAMEA Cooperative in Côte d’Ivoire, and ABOCFA Cooperative in Ghana – have received 50 percent of €80,000 in funding awarded to them, and their community building proposals focused on child labour prevention and remediation are becoming a reality. New benchmarking report finds carbon emissions from the U.S. power sector saw an accelerated downward trend in 2023

Due to a decline in coal use, the U.S. power sector saw an 8% reduction in carbon emissions in 2023, according to a new analysis of air emissions for the country’s top 100 power producers released recently.   While this decrease is a significant improvement over the marginal reduction of less than 1% in carbon emissions in 2022, 2023 emissions were only 2% lower than 2020 levels due to a surge in natural gas generation.  The analysis titled, Benchmarking Air Emissions of the 100 Largest Electric Power Producers in the…
