Charity In Kind Direct named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™

The 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ has officially recognised charity In Kind Direct within the top 60 among the 330 ranked organisations.

The 2024 UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ List features employers whose employees have affirmed their commitment to inclusivity and equity for all. In Kind Direct is committed to championing gender equality across its organisation by creating a workplace where all employees, regardless of gender, can flourish.

In Kind Direct is a UK charity founded over 25 years ago by HM King Charles III. It distributes essential products donated by its corporate partners to over 6,000 charitable organisations in its network, supporting over half a million people per week.

In Kind Direct’s inclusion on the list acknowledges its commitment to creating a positive, inclusive environment for all employees, to foster a culture that helps them to deliver against its mission of enabling communities to thrive.

Over the last few years, In Kind Direct has introduced new policies including the creation of their Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and Wellbeing groups, to solidify its commitment to ensuring the workplace is supportive and empowering for all.

  • In our latest employee survey, 100% of employees agreed that:
  • People here are treated fairly regardless of their gender, race, and sexual orientation
  • When joining In Kind Direct, everyone is made to feel welcome.
  • They are proud to tell others they work here.

Charlotte Walshe, Partnerships and Impact Director at In Kind Direct said:

“We are so proud to be named on the list of UK’s Best Workplaces for Women. We have worked hard to ensure that our policies and approach reflect our core values every day. I get to work with a brilliant group of innovative women and allies who make sure everyone here, regardless of gender, feels valued, able to be themselves, and given equal opportunities to thrive.”

Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place To Work UK says:

“Workplaces are only great if they’re great for all employees. For seven years, the UK’s Best Workplaces for Women™ List has been paving the way by tackling discrimination, removing barriers to women’s advancement in their careers, and challenging taboos around subjects like the menopause, and endometriosis.

“Importantly, each of the companies on the list have been commended by their own female employees through their anonymous feedback that told us their workplace has gone above and beyond to ensure that women employees are treated fairly in terms of recognition, training, and promotion opportunities.

“It’s fantastic to once again see a wide spread of sectors and organisational sizes appearing on our Best Workplaces for Women™ List this year – congratulations to all!”
