CIPR publishes first Annual EDI Progress Report

The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has published its first Annual EDI Progress Report, highlighting its achievements in advancing equity, diversity and inclusion across the PR profession in the year since it launched its EDI Strategy.

The report covers the period between October 2023 and October 2024 and demonstrates the Institute’s progress across the four key pillars outlined in its EDI strategy: leading practice development, championing lifelong learning, building a resilient community, and advocating for public relations. It showcases the CIPR’s work in expanding its offer of EDI learning resources, publishing research, and supporting initiatives that break down barriers to entry and progression throughout public relations.

Key achievements include:

  • The publication of a five-part EDI guide series, with over 4,500 downloads during the reporting period
  • More than 1,100 members accessing on-demand EDI training
  • The allocation of £75,000 through the Iprovision 75 Fund to support people from socially disadvantaged backgrounds to start or advance in a career in PR

When we launched our EDI strategy two years ago, it marked an important step in our journey. This first annual report demonstrates how seriously we’re taking our commitment to building a more resilient and inclusive industry where anyone can start and progress in a rewarding career.

The achievements highlighted in this report, from expanding our learning resources to supporting initiatives that make the PR profession a more inclusive place to work, show real progress on our goals. Through continued effort and the support of our partners and community, we can ensure our profession becomes a place where everyone can thrive and contribute.
