As the nation prepares to applaud our frontline workers for the 9th week, George at Asda has designed a rainbow themed slogan t-shirt to raise money to support two key Charities. 100% of the profits are to be split equally between NHS Charities Together and The Care Workers’ Charity. The t-shirts are set to launch online and in stores from Thursday 21st May.
The colourful unisex t-shirt design is made from 100% cotton and features a beautifully bright rainbow slogan urging us all to be ‘Brave, Kind, Strong’ alongside the positive message ‘together we’ve got this’. The Clap For Our Carers initiative has brought neighbours together and out on the street as a much needed morale boost to the nation at a time of social distancing, with the rainbow icon becoming a symbol of hope and appreciation for our frontline workers.
The new and exclusive unisex t-shirts will be available to purchase online at www.george.com and in over 150 stores from Thursday 21st May, 2020 for both adults and children in a range of sizes for the whole family; XS – 4XL, and ages 4 -14. Prices start from as little as £4 for kids and at £8 for adults.
Lynne Tooms, Senior Director, Design & Buying says: “On behalf of myself and the colleagues at both George and Asda, I would like to say how extremely proud and grateful we are for the fantastic work of all care workers and NHS staff across the country during these unprecedented times. We are so delighted to be launching a new and exclusive t-shirt to help support two brilliant charities at such a difficult time.”
Ellie Orton, CEO at NHS Charities Together stated: “We’ve been blown away by the support of the nation over the last few months. Initiatives like this are making a huge difference across the country in helping us support NHS workers, volunteers and patients impacted by COVID-19. Thank you Asda and George.”
Karolina Gerlich, Executive Director at The Care Workers’ Charity said: “We are so very grateful to Asda and their customers for their support during these challenging times. The profits from the t-shirt will directly help to care workers who are working tirelessly on the front line.”
As well as the t-shirt, Asda has also launched a Rainbow Pizza with 100% of the profits donated to both charities. The pizza is suitable for vegetarians, topped with five colourful vegetables including red and orange peppers, yellow sweetcorn, green spinach and red onion. The vibrant 10” pizza is £2.95 and available from the Asda pizza counter now.
