The National Emergencies Trust is encouraging more UK charities that support BAME communities to apply for funding from its Coronavirus Appeal, as emerging independent research shows BAME communities are at significantly heightened risk from COVID-19. Yorkshire Building Society Launches Bond To Help End Youth Homelessness COVID-19 Appeal

Yorkshire Building Society has launched a fixed rate bond in support of the End Youth Homelessness (EYH) Covid-19 appeal, enabling savers to help homeless young people through the coronavirus outbreak. The one-year End Youth Homelessness Fixed Rate Bond will see savers receive a 0.70% gross p.a/AER* interest rate, fixed until 30 June 2021. The Society will make a one-off donation to the EYH Covid-19 Appeal of 0.10% of all balances held in the bonds after the account has been withdrawn from sale. General Mills Commits to 100% Renewable Electricity Globally by 2030

General Mills set a goal of 100% renewable electricity by 2030 as part of the RE100 global corporate initiative. To achieve this, the company is investing in renewable energy efforts to support the company’s environmental objectives. Examples include two large-scale wind farms which will produce renewable energy credits (RECs), and anaerobic digestion (which captures and uses methane from waste to generate electricity). 17 brands including Wrangler, ICICLE, and Banana Republic, have joined the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Jeans Redesign project. The Jeans Redesign was launched by the Foundation’s Make Fashion Circular initiative in July 2019, setting out guidelines that set minimum requirements on garment durability, material health, recyclability, and traceability.
