CISL’s Entopia Building shortlisted for RIBA award

The Cambridge headquarters of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership, the Entopia Building, is among 23 projects nominated for the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) East Awards 2025. Constructed in 1939 to house a telephone exchange, the Entopia Building, formerly 1 Regent Street, was sustainably refitted at a cost of £12.6 million and CISL moved in in 2022. The building also houses the Canopy, a Cambridge community for entrepreneurs, startups, innovators and small businesses pioneering sustainability innovation.  Entopia’s retrofit was a collaborative project. Airbus launches study on non-CO2 aircraft emissions with Canadian aerospace partners

Airbus and major Canadian aerospace academic and research organisations have launched a project to measure non-CO2 emissions produced from different jet fuels, including 100% sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).  The project named Contrail Research Yielding STimulating Advanced RQL Learning (CRYSTAL) includes a ground and flight test campaign at Airbus’ Mirabel site in Canada, the A220 Programme headquarters.  The CRYSTAL project aims at measuring emissions on-wing (ground testing) and in-flight emissions and contrails at various altitudes (flight testing) using the A220 flight test aircraft.   Both ground and flight tests will be operating…

Asda updates on 2024 Gender Pay

Asda has published its 2024 Gender Pay figures, showing a year-on-year reduction in its median pay gap. All large companies are required to submit a report to the Government’s Gender Pay website. In Asda’s report, the retailer revealed: The median hourly pay difference between all male and female colleagues is 4% (2023: 5%).
