The Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) has launched the first-of-its-kind professional qualification focused on sustainable communications. Developed in line with the UN Principles for Responsible Management Education, the new specialist diploma will provide a theoretical and practical understanding in how to strategically manage sustainability communications in complex situations.
With the syllabus taught and assessed at the same level as a postgraduate degree, the Specialist Diploma in Sustainability Communications covers topics including;
- The role of organisations in society and how public relations practitioners can help shape communication strategies related to Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) matters
- The concepts and tools employed in researching, interpreting, analysing, and evaluating sustainability data to support organisations in meeting the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals
- How to manage sustainability communications activities and ethical stakeholder engagement to effectively identify and respond to disinformation and misinformation about sustainability
The launch of this diploma couldn’t be more timely or important. Whether it is meeting regulations, building trust with customers, managing supply chains, interpreting data, or embedding new business practices, public relations practitioners need to equip themselves with a deep knowledge and understanding of managing the complexities of communicating sustainability.
This diploma will provide you with those tools. Not only will it equip you with the necessary knowledge, it will give you a professionally recognised qualification, demonstrate to employers the rigour of your work, help you develop your role, and find ways into new areas of influence.
