Ethics in Advertising highlighted by ASA Report

Complaints to the ASA (Advertising Standards Authority) for the first half of 2017  have been released this week. These figures highlight that the advertising industry still has a long way to go in its ethics. The ASA figures show that TV continues to be the most complained about advertising medium with 5,127 complaints about 2,272 ads.  Online ads are a close second (4,062 complaints), with more individual ads (3,852) complained about than any other medium. This week there’s been quite a lot of new stories concerning corporate responsibility and corporate social responsibility. The Reputation Institute put out its global ranking for companies with the best CSR reputation. The Lego group, Microsoft and Google made up the top three. This study is compiled from more than 170,000 ratings across the world’s 15 largest economies. The Danish toy and Media Company push Google from the top of the list after a three year spell.
