PRCA Welcomes Tougher New Lobbying Rules

The PRCA – the professional body which represents and regulates the majority of the public affairs industry- today welcomed new, tougher guidance from the Registrar of Consultant Lobbyists. The Registrar today published his conclusions following consultation with the public affairs industry on two areas: the regulation of communication with Ministers; and the relevance and declaration of Codes of Conduct. For the first time UK coffee drinkers will be able to enjoy Fairtrade coffee from the Indonesian island of Java, an origin that is ubiquitous with quality, as it launches exclusively in Waitrose & Partners from October 10th. PRCA welcomes Ruth Davidson’s decision not to take Tulchan role

The Public Relations and Communications Association (PRCA) has welcomed Ruth Davidson’s decision to turn down a role at Tulchan Communications. The PRCA had previously condemned the original appointment, arguing it was unethical for legislators to work for lobbying agencies. ‘Brands and influencers must operate ethically’ – PRCA welcomes ASA ruling

The PRCA has warned brands to be mindful of their ethical responsibilities, after the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) banned a series of social media posts from influencers irresponsibly promoting dietary products. The ASA ruled that warned that the posts created the impression that it was “necessary or advisable” for people who were already slim to use products that suppress their appetites.
