Asda updates on 2024 Gender Pay

Asda has published its 2024 Gender Pay figures, showing a year-on-year reduction in its median pay gap. All large companies are required to submit a report to the Government’s Gender Pay website. In Asda’s report, the retailer revealed: The median hourly pay difference between all male and female colleagues is 4% (2023: 5%). Asda partners with Podback to enable coffee lovers to recycle their used pods in stores

Asda has partnered with coffee pod recycling service Podback, to provide coffee lovers with a simple and convenient way to recycle their used coffee pods in over 600 of its stores. Coffee pods are not suited for recycling through traditional routes, due to their small size, and because they contain organic material. Asda donates 1m meals as part of new fruit and veg pledge

Asda will donate the equivalent of one million meals during the start of 2025, as part of a brand-new “Winter Fruit and Veg pledge” with FareShare and the Coronation Food Project. Running from January to March, the initiative will see over 420 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables donated to the UK’s biggest charity fighting hunger and tackling food waste. Asda invests in new bio-LNG refuelling stations

Asda is investing in two new Bio-LNG (liquefied natural gas) refuelling facilities, as the retailer continues to make progress towards reducing overall carbon emissions. Working closely with Gasrec – a major fuel provider for commercial vehicles in the UK – the new refuelling facilities in Warrington and Dartford now mean Asda has thirteen fully operational Bio-LNG stations strategically located across the UK.
