Diversity of UK television industry Criticised in new Ofcom Report

Broadcasters need to improve the diversity of their employees, Ofcom said today, as a major study of diversity in television finds that women, ethnic-minority groups and disabled people are all under-represented in the industry. Ofcom’s report, Diversity and equal opportunities in television, uncovers the scale and nature of the diversity challenge facing the TV industry, with a focus on the main five broadcasters – the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, Sky and Viacom (owner of Channel 5). Coca-Cola Australia Show support for Equal Marriage

Coca-Cola Australia has come out in support of same-sex marriage ahead of Australia’s historic vote on equal marriage.  The company has started a number of initiative to showcase their support including launching hundreds of thousands of Coke cans with the famous Coca-Cola script changed to the word ‘love’ and with a rainbow heart in the ‘o’ of love. Uber pledges $1.2m over 3 years to Girls Who Code

Over the past year or so Uber has struggled to address issues of sexism and gender parity, with reports of harassment and discrimination making the wrong kind of headlines for the business.
